The Shantyjacs in Oystermouth Castle
A marvellous day singing for passing visitors

Saturday 14th September was Oystermouth Castle's open day and they invited us to come and sing shanties to entertain visitors.
It was a lovely, sunny day which was a change from most of the weather we have been experiencing this year and the castle was receiving hundreds of visitors. It coincided with the Mumbles Food Festival, which brought a lot of people to the area. It was quite surprising that many were unaware the castle was there!
We sang many of our regular shanties and songs of the seas along with a few in our repertoire that are a little more varied and as we are still supporting the RNLI, in this their 200th year, we had a bucket out collecting some donations. It was a lot of fun and we sang for about two hours in all. A great day which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were really pleased that some of the Mumbles Lifeboat Singers came along and sang with us for a while.
