Shanty Sailing
A fine afternoon singing along the River Tawe

We were very fortunate that Saturday, 28th September turned out to be a fine, early Autumn afternoon. Swansea Community Boat Trust had very generously lent us their trip boat, Copper Jack, for a fund raising Shanty Sailing in aid of the RNLI that raised just under £400.
We were delighted to welcome over 35 passengers who cruised up the river, singing their hearts out and having a great time. Indeed, the 1.5 hour sailing seemed to end too quickly for everybody as we were asked if we could go around again. Well, not that day maybe, but we hope we can repeat the experience next year.
We sang many of our regular songs and some newer ones that really went down well and it was a job to persuade everybody to leave once we had returned to Copper Jacks berth.
A big thank you to the CJ crew - Dave, Steve, Helen and Diane for a smooth trip, despite having to navigate some new hazards on the river in the form of a tree at the turning point and a large chunk of wood that has embedded itself a bit further down.
See you all again next year?
